Initiated in 2019 by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Human Resources Office, to strengthen human capital in Türkiye, the UNI-VERI project has been updated with the new labor market indicators, and the scope of the data has been expanded.
In preparation for the 2024 university preference period, the UNI-VERI project, which draws significant interest from prospective university students, has been updated to expand the number of key indicators from six, "duration until first employment", "entry-level wage distribution", "skill mismatch", "employment rate in public sector," "sectoral distribution" and "firm size distribution", to fifteen.
To provide comprehensive analyses of the transition from higher education to employment in Türkiye, new metrics such as "employment rate", " employment rate in managerial positions", " employment rate in academic positions", "average duration of employment in a job", "duration between two jobs", "average number of workplaces worked at”, "entrepreneurship rate" ,"distribution of enterprise lifespan" and "entrepreneurship in high value-added sectors" have been incorporated.
The scope of the analyses in UNI-VERI has been broadened to include approximately 4 million graduates from undergraduate programs between 2010 and 2022. The results of the analyses are accessible to users through various visual representations on the website www.cbiko.gov.tr
Prospective university students are using objective data when deciding on their department of choice
Providing up-to-date and qualified information about the performance of departments in labor markets, UNI-VERI has been cited by international organizations such as the OECD as a best practice for its contributions to education and labor market reforms in Türkiye.
Prospective university students, recent graduates, and current university students can utilize the operational guidelines on the UNI-VERI page to access “department-based” analyses of the departments they are interested in, compare the departments they wish to choose, and develop career plans.
Prospective university students who wish to conduct a “university-based” evaluation through these indicators can access the relevant data via the Career Counseling Information System (CCIS) through psychological counselors and career counseling teachers.
UNI-VERI, which provides open and free services to the public, acts as a guide not only for students and their parents but also for educational institutions, career counselors, and academics. In this regard, it strengthens the connection between higher education and the labor market.
UNI-VERI can be accessed at www.cbiko.gov.tr, and announcements can be followed through the official Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook accounts of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Human Resources Office(@tccbiko).
Respectfully announced to the public.
