Under the auspices of the Presidency, the Southeast Regional Career Fair, hosted by Dicle University (DÜ) and organized with the contributions of 7 universities in the region, was launched with a ceremony.

Salim Atay, the President of Presidential Human Resources Office, said "We offer equal opportunities all over Turkey. What we wish is for you valuable students to come here and show that you are the talent companies are after. We believe that every young person in this country is a talent. Please believe in yourself, as we believe in you.”

In his speech at the ceremony in the DÜ Culture and Congress Center, Atay stated that the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan showed the importance he attaches to the youth by taking the organization under the auspices of the Presidency.

Atay explained that when Erdoğan started his duty as the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, one of the first things he did in the city, where garbage was not collected and water did not flow, was to take care of the accommodation and scholarship opportunities of students coming from Anatolia. Atay emphasized that Erdoğan has, throughout his life, been willing and insistent on protecting and looking after the youth, and that it was this effort and sincerity of Erdoğan that made him the President of Turkey.

Atay said that they value that a part of the fair was held in Diyarbakır, and added "We offer equal opportunities all over Turkey. What we wish is for you valuable students to come here and show that you are the talents companies are after. When we say ‘Talent is everywhere’, we believe that every young person in this country is a talent. Please believe in yourself, as we do believe in you. Tens of companies are here because they believe so.”

Stating that young people should have big dreams and raise their career goals, Atay said, "Maybe now you have in mind 'Let me get a position in the public sector'. Then you will see that this cannot be the only target. Because we are also a country with a very rich and developed private sector."

Atay reported that they organize career fairs not only in Turkey but across the world and added, "We will show the whole world that Turkey is not only a country with strong rhetoric in world politics, but it also has the production, industry and technology to support this.”

"The aim is to prepare young people for the future"

Diyarbakir Governor Hasan Basri Güzeloğlu said that all the universities founded, all the facilities provided, and all the events organized serve the purpose of preparing the young for the future.

Güzeloğlu stressed that while walking around the exhibition area he encountered a great energy and saw young people each of whom will carry the country to a better future and add value to Turkey with their knowledge, background, and personality. Güzeloğlu said, "We know each of you is a value. We believe that with the background you have, you will prepare a future where you are not the consumer but the producer, not the user but the creator, not the importer but the exporter of technology.”

"The purpose of the fairs is to serve our country"

Rector of DÜ. Dr. Talip Gül expressed his happiness to host such an important event.

Stating that the main purpose of the fair is to bring students and industry and company representatives together, Gül said:

"The purpose of these fairs is to serve the students in some way, so to serve our country. In this fair, our current students in particular, our graduate students and even secondary education students will come together and talk with different sectors, firms and public institutions, and take advantage of this fair as a career step. "

The ceremony was attended by Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor Kamil Erkut Güre, and the rectors of Batman, Bingöl, Bitlis, Fırat, Mardin Artuklu ve Şırnak Universities.

After the speeches, the protocol members visited the stands and met with the students and company representatives.
